    Week 1: July 6 to 10

    The Sports Camp is your chance to hit the field, court, and diamond for a week of high-energy fun. Each day features a new sport, new skills to learn, and exciting challenges to take on!

    Join our seasonal camp and the YMCA aquatic staff for a week at the Blue Dolphin Pool! Swimmers participate in a variety of activities including a full session of swimming lessons, public swimming, water games, offsite activities and more! Passing is not guaranteed.

    Parents and/or guardians may be required to enter the water with swimmers Level 3 and under. Swimmers unable to pass the YMCA swim test for public swimming will be required to wear a lifejacket.

    Children will have 2 lessons per day from Monday to Thursday, held at 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM, with a public swim taking place on Friday.

    Week 2: July 13 to 17

    Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

    This newly combined camp will include instruction from our own Camp Counselor, Avery Aldred, who is completing  her Bachelor of Earth Sciences, alongside Brooke Green, owner of Thrive Therapy & Wellness. Each day, the campers will be split into two groups. One half will begin with Avery, while the others begin with Brooke and her team.

    Brooke’s sessions focus on themes such as positive self-talk, mindfulness, mind–body connection, friendship, communication, boundaries, confidence, gratitude, feelings, and emotional regulation. Activities might include practicing belly breathing, and participating in mindfulness freeze tag games. 

    As part of Avery’s lessons, campers will take care of seedlings and watch them grow throughout the week, while studying how our planet encompasses all of its physical and biological system. This could include the solid earth, water or atmosphere and their interactions.

    The Meaford Pickleball Club, alongside Pickleball Coach, Brian Bell, will be bringing their racket skills  to work with the Municipality with  a full day summer camp. Brian and the MPC Volunteers will work with the kids for several hours each morning of the week, teaching them the rules and basics of the game.

    Our camp councillors will take the kids for the rest of the day to walk to other parks or areas of Meaford for activities, games and more!

    MPC are also planning for some prizes and take homes for all the campers for the week!

    Week 3: July 20 to 24

    Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

    Location: Meaford & St.Vincent Community Centre

    Ages: 6-12

    Campers will be able to work closely with 2 or more Georgian Bay Applekings players in the mornings and also receive an Applekings ball cap and practice jersey. Applekings players will teach campers the basic skills of hockey and ball hockey, as well as some rules of the game and more advanced techniques later in the week. The players will keep it fun and light with some type of game each day for the campers before handing off the day to the camp councillors.

    After a morning of ball hockey, camp staff will take kids on exciting outings to McCarroll Park or keep the fun going with activities around the Meaford Arena.

    Required: Helmet with Face Shield, Gloves and Stick. Small Shin pads are recommended.

    Calling all young creators! Join us for a week of fun, color, and creativity at Art Camp, hosted by the Municipality of Meaford. Whether your child loves painting, drawing, or getting their hands messy, this camp is the perfect place for them  to explore their artistic side.

    Our instructors will guide campers through exciting projects, helping them build skills, express themselves, and bring their imagination to life. Plus, we’ll enjoy outdoor inspiration breaks and creative games to keep the fun flowing!

    Week 4: July 27 to 31

    Join in with Tanner, Griffin and Parker Almond to learn the fundamentals of baseball! Tanner was on a scholarship for baseball in the USA in Oklahoma Northeastern State University and Connors State State College. He was also a centre fielder with Northeastern in the NCAA and had a .268 Batting Average with 2 Home Runs and 9 Stolen Bases over 28 games played.

    After a morning of baseball, camp staff will take kids on exciting outings to Memorial Park, or keep the fun going with activities around the Tennis Courts and Ball Diamonds.

    Get Ready for Science Camp!

    Here, campers can expect a week full of discovery in the world of science. Through fun experiments, games and hands-on activities, campers will learn about topics such as: nature, space and water throughout Memorial Park.

    Campers will get their brain activity firing with scavenger hunts, cool experiments and inventions and nature walks!

    Get ready to embark on a week of adventures out of town! Each day, our councillors will be taking all campers to a new location within our surrounding area. Here’s what this will look like:

    Monday: Day Trip to Story Book Park in Owen Sound.

    Tuesday: Day Trip to Scenic Caves Nature Adventures in the Blue Mountains.

    Wednesday: Stay in Meaford but hike down Trout Hollow Trail, ending with a picnic at Beautiful Joe Park.

    Thursday: Day Trip to Rounds Ranch in Elmvale.

    Friday: Day Trip to the Elmvale Jungle Zoo in Phelpston.

    Week 9: August 31 to September 2

    Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

    Lights, camera, action! Get ready for a three-day cinematic adventure where campers step into the worlds of their favorite movies through games, crafts, and activities inspired by the big screen. Each day brings a new theme, new magic, and tons of fun!

    Day 1: Apparate into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where campers will create their own wands, cast spells, brew potions, and compete in magical challenges.

    Day 2: Tap into the Magic of Disney, where fairy tales come to life with themed games, creative crafts, and surprises.

    Day 3: Dive into the Pixar Theory, exploring the connections between beloved Pixar films through exciting activities and fun storytelling.

    Come dressed for the theme, bring your imagination, and get ready for a blockbuster experience you won’t forget!

    Whatever your interest or experience level, the Municipality’s wide range of adult and senior programs offer something for everyone. Discover how you can get out, get active, and get social!

    All participants registered in fitness and/or physical activities are encouraged to complete PAR-Q+ (self-assessment), a physical activity readiness questionnaire to ensure they are ready to safely participate in programming or consult with their physician prior to participation.

    DIO is a 60-minute total body fitness based dance workout that includes all styles of dance. It incorporates cardio, strength, endurance and flexibility and is paced so anyone can participate. All classes are accessible.

    Municipal Recreation Fund

    The Municipal Recreation Fund is an annual program that  supports children and adults in need of financial assistance for participating in recreation activities. The Municipality works with the Meaford Food Bank & Outreach to run this program.

    In instances of poor weather conditions or power outages, classes may be cancelled. lf there is inclement weather, a notice will be posted on the Municipality of Meaford website. Registered participants will be notified by email. Follow our @Municipality of Meaford Parks & Rec page for notices as well.

    If a class in a session is cancelled, no refund will be issued. Every effort will be made to reschedule the class.

    Refunds will be available for customers within the first 14 days after registration. 

    If registration occurs less than 14 days before the start of the program or activity, refunds will not be available.
    Cancellations received after the 14 days, but more than 14 days before the start date of the program or activity can transfer their registration to an alternative program or activity. If no alternative is available, or if the cancellation is for exceptional reasons, a credit can be applied to the customer’s account. The credit has no expiry.
    Cancellations occurring less than 14 days before the start date of a program or activity will receive no refund or credit.

    In the case of swimming lessons or summer camp, if the space is resold to another customer, then the customer will receive a credit on their account.
    For programs and activities cancelled by the Municipality of Meaford, refunds will be issued.

    Students enrolled in Dance Foundations and Aerial Arts receive a comprehensive dance education, whether they are on the floor or in the air. No previous experience is required! With tap and ballet also offered and suitable for ages 13+, there’s something for everyone.Leadership options for teens include the NEW student teacher education program!     One day per week, spend the majority of the  day outside in Memorial Park exploring and discovering all of the natural wonders, big and small, with a skilled mentor!     Learn the fundamentals of the game of soccer. Led by instructor Cristian Suditu . This program is excellent for kids just starting out or looking to improve their existing skills in dribbling, passing, and shooting. A mini game is included. Soccer cleats and shin pads are encouraged.

    Mixed Movements was founded by Meghan Loney & Andrew Robertson to give athletes of all ages the tools, positive environment, and foundational skills to excel in everyday life & sport.

    Mixed Movements offers several youth programs and camps throughout the summer, including a new NFL FLAG Youth Flag Football for Meaford & The Blue Mountains. 

    A co-ed, non-contact activity for athletes ages 8–16, the NFL FLAG league runs one 75-minute session each week, combining skill-building drills with exciting game play. Every player gets an official NFL FLAG jersey, energetic coaching, along with a  fun and  supportive team environment.
