What to know before your visit:

  • Hours (note that some are seasonal or rules change during the winter)
    • An outdoor pool, The Blue Dolphin pool is heated and hosts lessons June – August.
  • Waste: help keep our space clean and use the waste receptacles

The Municipality of Meaford is thrilled to partner with the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce to operate the Blue Dolphin Pool!

Swimming lessons will continue , but under  different names, to match the courses offered at the YMCA. Please refer to the YMCA Swim Program Conversion Chart to see what the equivalent lesson level for your child is in the YMCA’s system.

Seasons passes will be sold online via the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce’s webpage. Further instructions will follow.

No. You do not need to be a YMCA member to access the Blue Dolphin Pool.

No. Your YMCA membership does not include access to, or swim lessons at the Blue Dolphin Pool. You will be required to purchase a separate pass.

Yes! The YMCA is hiring! Individuals that become certified lifeguards are eligible to work for the YMCA! We are actively hiring seasonal Aquatics staff as well as those that are interested in working with us on a part-time or full-time basis after the summer season ends.

We have a robust swim lesson and Aquatics program during fall, winter and spring seasons in our Health, Fitness & Aquatics centre located at the Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre in Owen Sound, ON.

If you are already a certified lifeguard, please complete the YMCA Employment/Volunteer Application Form and submit along with your resume and cover letter to aquatics@osgb.ymca.ca

Yes! Both swim lessons and public swim season passes are eligible for funding under the Municipality’s Recreation Subsidy program, as well as the Grey County Social Initiatives Funding. More information on how to apply for these subsidies will be available when registration for swim lessons begins.
