The Municipality of Meaford’s 2026 Budget has been deemed adopted as ofFebruary 6, 2026.This year’s budget marks the first full cycle under Ontario’s Strong Mayors Legislation, with the Mayor submitting the proposed budget directly to Council following extensive collaboration with municipal staff. The approved plan focuses on maintaining essential services, supporting long-term financial sustainability, and investing in the infrastructure needed for a growing community.
“This year’s process has been unique, but our goals remain consistent,” said Mayor Ross Kentner. “Working closely with staff, we developed a budget that is financially responsible, transparent, and aligned with our strategic priorities. It supports the growth we are experiencing, advances our commitment to sustainability, and continues to strengthen our infrastructure. I am proud of the collaborative work that went into this year’s plan and rate increase under 5%, which was my directive from the start of this process.”

This year’s budget focuses on maintaining essential services, supporting long-term financial sustainability, and investing in the infrastructure needed as our community continues to grow. It includes continued investment in core infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, and municipal facilities, along with a commitment to responsible debt management and ongoing contributions to reserves.

Property Tax Information
The 2026 tax rate will be reflected on the 2026 Final Tax Bill, issued in two installments: August and October. Residents are encouraged to review their statements carefully and contact the Municipality with any questions related to property tax payments.
