Hamlet Tales: Authors Among Us Continues with Sean Patrick Dolan

The Meaford Public Library invites the community to Hamlet Tales: Authors Among Us, featuring Sean Patrick Dolan and his novel The Prophet of Frogs Hollow on Saturday, July 4, at 2:00 p.m. at the Riverside Community Centre (157707 7th Line, Meaford). Advanced registration is required as space is limited. Please register by calling 519-538-3500 or emailing libraryinfo@meaford.ca.

Sean Patrick Dolan is a retired educator turned writer who has worked with Oxford University Press and CBC News in Review. He is the author of My Father’s Secret (2021) and The Prophet of Frogs Hollow (2025), and lives in Thornbury, Ontario, with his wife, Sharon Goodland.

In The Prophet of Frogs Hollow, Dolan explores how the search for meaning can leave individuals vulnerable to manipulation, drawing on his interest in the emergence of cults.

Set in the Georgian Triangle, the novel follows Declan Keenan and Karuna Patel as they attempt to rescue two friends from a manipulative group operating near Frogs Hollow Side Road. The story unfolds through a gripping narrative that examines belief, belonging, and the risks within close‑knit communities.

Signed copies of The Prophet of Frogs Hollow will be available for purchase at the event. Credit, debit, and cash accepted.

This series celebrates local voices and the stories that connect Meaford’s communities as part of the Municipality of Meaford’s 25th Anniversary of Amalgamation. To learn more about the Municipality of Meaford’s 25th Anniversary of Amalgamation, visit www.meaford.ca/25.
