Statement from the Municipality of Meaford and Mayor Ross Kentner on OPP Constable Tarun Bali

The Municipality of Meaford offers its deepest condolences following the tragic line of duty death of OPP Provincial Constable Tarun Bali. We are profoundly saddened by this loss, and our hearts go out to Constable Bali’s family, friends, and colleagues, as well as to all members of the Ontario Provincial Police who are grieving at this time.

We recognize the courage and dedication of police officers who serve and protect their communities each day, often facing significant risks in the line of duty. This devastating loss is a solemn reminder of those sacrifices.

As a gesture of respect and remembrance, municipal flags in Meaford will be lowered to half‑mast today, June 11, 2026.

We stand with the OPP and communities across Ontario in mourning, and we extend our thoughts, compassion, and support to all those affected by this tragedy.
