Meaford Launching Pilot to Expand Municipal Office Hours and Strengthen Customer Service Delivery

Pilot begins June 29 and will improve service readiness, public access, and front-counter support

Meaford, ON – Starting June 29, customer service staff at the Municipality of Meaford will launch a pilot to expand Municipal Office hours to 5:00 p.m..

Through this pilot, the Municipal Office, located at 21 Trowbridge Street West, will extend its current 4:30 p.m. closing time to 5:00 p.m., improving access to municipal services for residents who may be unable to attend earlier in the day.

The extended hours will support access to core customer service functions, including bill payments, garbage tags, tax payments, and general inquiries and support.

This change is intended to better meet the needs of residents, particularly those who commute or work during standard business hours, by providing greater opportunity to connect with municipal staff in person or by phone.

The pilot will be implemented at no additional cost to the tax levy and reflects a refreshed approach to scheduling within existing resources.

Residents are encouraged to visit the Municipal Office or contact the Municipality during the new extended hours beginning June 29.

To improve accessibility for residents, particularly those who commute or are unable to visit during standard business hours.

Core customer service functions, including bill payments, garbage tags, tax payments, and general inquiries and support. The extended hours do not apply to all services offered out of the Municipal Office such as building or planning services.
