Accessibility Advisory Committee
Our accessibility advisory committee exists to fulfill the duties of a Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee as outlined in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and to provide advice to Council on programs, policies and services provided to persons with disabilities and seniors.
National AccessAbility Week
Each year, we celebrate National AccessAbility Week, beginning the last Sunday in May, to recognize inclusion and accessibility in our community:
- Flag Raising: We raise the National AccessAbility Week flag at the downtown Market Square.
- Water Tower Lighting: The water tower is illuminated in blue and yellow each evening to honor accessibility.
- Red Shirt Day: Join us by wearing red to show support for people with disabilities and their families.
- Accessibility Celebration Video: We release a video featuring insights from residents, officials, and staff about accessibility in Meaford.
