From state-of-the-art equipment to seamless reading options, we are committed to making our spaces and services accessible to everyone. That’s why we are proud members of CELA (Centre for Equitable Library Access), a public library service for Canadians with print disabilities.
Accessible Facility
The building is all on one level, with automatic doors for easy entry and five accessible washrooms (including one with an adult change table). All shelving is AODA compliant and stands at 48 inches in height.
The Library will not charge support workers accompanying persons with disabilities for admission to any Library event, but they should notify the Library in advance of their attendance. This protocol falls under The Municipality of Meaford Integrated Accessibility Standards Policy, revised as of August 2017.
Homebound Service
Meaford Public Library will deliver library materials to Meaford residents living in urban areas. Speak with staff at the main circulation desk to register for this service.
- Accessibility enhanced public computer with a large monitor, large track ball mouse, large print keyboard, and JAWS screen reader.
- NEW ClearView One+ Reader by Optelec, an auto-focus desktop electronic magnification system.
