Your gateway to exploration, a Meaford Public Library card grants you access to the library’s wide collection of physical and online items. Armed with a card, bookworms can:
- Borrow library books, audiobooks, magazines, movies, and items from the Library of Things.
- The Library of Things collection includes bird watching kits, Chromebooks, fishing rods, park passes, pickleball kits, puzzles, snowshoes, ukuleles, wi-fi hotspots, video games, and more!
- Access many online resources including Libby, Hoopla, Bibilio+, LinkedinLearning, Mango Languages, and more!
- Bookmeeting rooms
- Register for free programming for kids, teens, and adults
- Order items through CELA (Centre for Equitable Library Access) that are designed for those who have difficulty reading print
- Request books not in our collection through interlibrary loan. Books must be at least 1 year old.
- Obtain a card at Blue Mountains Public Library and Grey Highlands Public Library, with a valid Meaford Public Library card
- Obtain an Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library card, with a Meaford Public Library card

Loans and Renewal Periods
Be sure to stay on top of your due dates, as overdue items can impact your ability to borrow new items. Here’s how long our items are yours to enjoy:
- Movies: 3 days for new adult movies and 1 week for others and new series movies, no renewals allowed
- Magazines: 1 week, 1 renewal
- New Adult Books: 2 weeks, 1 renewal (provided the item is not on hold for another patron)
- Technology and Other Equipment: 3-21 days, no renewals
- Snowshoes: 1 week, no renewals
- Kits: Up to 3 weeks (includes Puzzles and Pickleball Sets)
- Non-circulating: reference materials and items marked “not for loan” in the catalogue
- Ontario Parks Day-Use Pass: 1 week, no renewal, one pass per family
- Grey Sauble Conservation Parking Pass: 3 days with no renewal, one pass per family
- Interlibrary loans: 3 weeks, 1 renewal (if approved by the lending library)
We encourage patrons to return materials by their due date so they can be loaned to othersFees will be charged for damaged items and items out for more than 30 days. The maximum late fee charge is $5 per item. Patrons with greater than $5 in charges on their account are unable to borrow items from the library and the e-Library. Depending on the item, a replacement fee for the item may be charged:
- Books and Magazines: Replacement fee if not returned after 30 days.
- Movies: Replacement fee if not returned after 30 days.
- Technology, Equipment, and Kits: Replacement fee if not returned after 14 days.
- Interlibrary Loans: 25 cents/day overdue charges. $5 charge for failure to pick up or if the item is cancelled while in transit from the lending library
