The Municipality of Meaford hosts high quality education facilities and programs for all ages. This includes lifelong learning opportunities within the Municipality at the Meaford Hall Arts & Cultural Centre.

Georgian Bay Community School (GBCS) is located in urban Meaford and serves grades 4-12. It is known throughout the area as having the premier music program and a modern communications program. Students at GBCS have the opportunity to participate in various community programs to support their learning outside of the classroom, such as GBCS Idol and the Student Francophone Film Festival, both created in partnership with the Meaford Hall & Culture Foundation. GBCS also offers a Specialist High Skills Major program, Arts in Motion, and a Co-Op education program to allow students to customize their educational experience.

Urban Meaford is also home to an elementary school, the St. Vincent –Euphrasia School which has students enrolled from junior Kindergarten to Grade 3 and offers both English and French classes.

Students living in rural Meaford in close proximity to the City of Owen Sound, or Catholic School students must attend one of seven schools in the City of Owen Sound.

Meaford will soon be home to a new super school which will include all JK to grade 12 students. This new 24 million dollar investment recently announced by the Province of Ontario will feature a modern learning environment for many future generations, and will offer the best education possible to students in the Meaford area.

    We have recently had some instance of garbage bag tags being ripped in half, and both halves being placed on two separate garbage bags. Garbage will only be collected if a complete bag tag is present on all waste bags, and by-law enforcement will be contacted if necessary.
