Household Hazardous Waste

Facility Information

Residents can drop off household hazardous waste on the designated days below. All materials must be in containers/able to be identified. Please bring photo identification to show the attendant. Please ensure you bring a tax receipt for proof of property ownership if your photo ID does not prove residency in Meaford.

Commercial, farming, institutional and industrial material will not be accepted.

Location: 1900 - 20th Street East, Owen Sound

Hours of Operation: 9:00am to 2:00pm

  • Materials containing PCB’s
  • Infectious wastes including syringes
  • Smoke detectors
  • Explosives
  • Ammunition or flares
  • Unidentified products
  • Empty cans or bottles (empty aerosol cans or paint cans can go into your recycling)
  • Cardboard boxes
