Downtown & Economic Community Improvement Plans Intake Open

Meaford, Ontario – March 22nd, 2017 - The Municipality is pleased to announce that the 2017 application intake for grant & loan incentives under the Downtown Community Improvement Plan (CIP) and new Economic CIP will be opening on April 1st, 2017. Applications will be accepted through May 19th, 2017, with deliberation and award occurring shortly thereafter.

In addition to the downtown incentive program which has been available since 2013, this year we are pleased to offer programs applicable to commercial, industrial, agricultural, value-added and non-residential heritage lands/buildings outside of the Downtown CIP area.

Additionally, under the Economic CIP, a new Energy Efficiency & Retrofit Grant/Loan Program is now available to commercial, industrial, agricultural/value-added landowners – including those within the existing Downtown CIP area – to support improvements to energy efficiency, installation of appropriate small-scale renewable energy systems, and the purchase and installation of EnergySTAR certified heating/cooling/ventilation products and energy efficient lighting and controls.

Potential applicants are encouraged to visit the municipal website at www.meaford.ca/CIP to review the details, terms and conditions for each program. Application forms are available on-line or at the Municipal Administration Office during regular business hours. Pre-submission consultation with staff is recommended.

We have recently had some instance of garbage bag tags being ripped in half, and both halves being placed on two separate garbage bags. Garbage will only be collected if a complete bag tag is present on all waste bags, and by-law enforcement will be contacted if necessary.
