Earth Week 2016

January 11, 2016 - The Earth Week Team is well on the way to planning for the 2016 Events, taking place this year from April 17th – 25th throughout the Municipality of Meaford!

If you or your group would be interested in hosting an “Earth Friendly” event during this week, either a film showing, a lecture or whatever else you may like to plan, please contact Amber Knott , prior to February 1st, 2015, so that your event can be included in the Earth Week Brochure!

Once again this year Earth Week will include the annual RE-Use & ECO-Fair on Saturday April 23rd, at the Meaford, St. Vincent Community Centre from 9am to 3pm.

If your organization would be interested in submitting a “wish list” for this year’s RE-Use Fair, you can go to: www.meaford.ca/earthweek to obtain the submission form, or contact Lindy Iversen (519-538-0167) for further information. If you would be interested in volunteering during the RE-Use Fair this year, you may also contact Lindy.

If you create or produce environmentally conscious products or services, and are interested in being a Vendor to SELL or SHOWCASE your wares at the ECO Fair, please go to: www.meaford.ca/earthweek, where you will find the application form or contact Jenean Lush for further information. Applications are due by April 1, 2016. Space will be granted on a first come, first serve basis.

We have recently had some instance of garbage bag tags being ripped in half, and both halves being placed on two separate garbage bags. Garbage will only be collected if a complete bag tag is present on all waste bags, and by-law enforcement will be contacted if necessary.
