Burning

Every person who applies for and receives, and/or signs for an Open Air Burn Fire Permit acknowledges and understands the rules specified in this by-law, assumes all responsibility and liability and all fees associated as specified in this by-law and all applicable legislation for any damages occurring from the fire for which this permit is issued. The applicant must abide by the following provisions as below:

• Minimum of .4 hectare (1 acre) of land
• Clean and Clear wood only permitted
• Supervised at all times by 16 years or older
• Adequate means of extinguishment must be readily available
• Set fire is to be 10 m (33 ft) from any structure, property line, fence, road or overhead wires or obstruction of any nature
• No combustible material within 3 m (10 ft) of set fire
