Community Grant Program

The Municipality of Meaford's Community Grant Program supports community partners providing programs, services and events to our residents and visitors. The 2018 tax supported budget includes $40,000 to support community partners providing programs, services and events to the residents and visitors of the Municipality of Meaford.

In order to be considered for funds, applicants must be a not-for-profit or charitable organization with a clear connection to the Municipality of Meaford. Funds are available for events, projects or initiatives that both make a significant contribution to the community and promote the Municipality's vision, values, and strategic priorities.

There are two application cycles per year, with the 2018 application deadlines being Friday April 13, 2018 and Friday August 31, 2018. At least 20% of the budgeted funds will be reserved for the second intake of applications.

Council have requested that all organizations applying for grants through the 2018 Community Grant Program make a short presentation. The presentations will be scheduled for a Special Council meeting on Monday May 7 (First Intake) and Monday September 17 (Second Intake). Please ensure a member of your organization will be available. Staff will be in touch with more information after receiving your application.

Council will evaluate applications and award funds to those events or projects that best meet the evaluation criteria. No organization will receive more than 10% of the total available funding in a calendar year.

Successful applicants will be required to complete a Final Report and Budget Summary after the event or project takes place.

For further information, please see the Community Grants Program Policy, as approved by Council, or contact the Clerk's Office at 519-538-1060 ext. 1100 or communitygrants@meaford.ca

Applications must be submitted in full by 4:00 p.m. on the published deadline, including all necessary additional documentation. Please send application packages to communitygrants@meaford.ca or Community Grant Program, Municipality of Meaford, 21 Trowbridge Street W, Meaford, N4L 1A1.
