Recreation Fee Subsidy Program

We are developing a program with Golden Town Outreach for families who need assistance to cover registration, transportation, and equipment fees for sports and recreation programs.

This program replaces the Non-Resident Fee subsidy that covered non-resident fees charged to participants of minor sports who do not reside in Owen Sound.

What is Included

This program will cover any recreation activity including dance, gymnastics, swimming, etc. and can also help with equipment or travel costs. It will apply not just to programs in Owen Sound, but to Meaford's programs and those in other neighbouring communities as well.

Families must pay at least 10% of the total cost, with a minimum of $25. Children may be funded for multiple activities up to a maximum of $500 per child, per year. This is subject to the discretion of Golden Town Outreach and available funding.

If your favourite activity is not listed, check with Golden Town Outreach as your program may still be eligible for funding!

How to Apply

To apply, please fill out the Recreation Program Subsidy Application Form and submit it to goldentownoutreach@gmail.com. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact goldentownoutreach@gmail.com or call 519-538-4550.

Eligibility

This program can be used for anyone who lives in Meaford and is below the age of 18. Families must provide proof of financial need in order to participate.

This program follows Revenue Canada’s Low Income Cut-offs (LICO’s) with an additional $40,000 added to the cut-off point. Proof of income must be provided.
