Home Alone Course  

Meaford & District Fire Hall

Wednesday January 3

9am-2pm   Cost $30

The Home Alone Program is designed to provide children 10 years of age and older with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods of time. It will help them understand how to prevent problems, handle real-life situations, and keep them safe and constructively occupied. The program focuses on small group discussions, problem solving, role-playing, and instructor-led demonstrations. A Certificate is provided at the end of the program.

The course material covers such topics as:

•    Establishing a routine              •    House Key is your responsibility          •    Strangers                 •    Telephone

•    Emergencies                            •    Basic First Aid                                     •     Internet Safety

Friday, March 17 

9am-4pm   Cost $50

Learn how to care for children--infants, toddlers, preschool and school-aged children. Keep children safe and have fun! Please bring a doll and a nut-free lunch. Certificate provided for individuals at the end of the program. Registrations can dropped off at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre Administration Office. RECREATION PROGRAMS DAY CAMP

Meaford & St. Vincent Community Centre

$150.00 per week/child or $30/day

8:30am-4:30 pm             ages 5-13

Register for the entire week or for an individual day, you decide. Each day will have a theme that activities, crafts and games are worked around. Daily skating will also be available, so don’t forget your skates and helmet. Bagged lunch and snacks will be required, as well as, weather appropriate outdoor clothing and indoor shoes.

Monday: T-shirt designs: tie-dye, fabric markers, iron-on transfers and more!  Public Skating, games and activities included in the day.

Tuesday: Kitchen & Garden Creations.  Cooking in the kitchen with Rheanna (Kids In The Kitchen Chef), as well as building bird feeders, bat                           houses, chia pets and more!  

Wednesday: Ice & Skating Day!  Lots of time spent on the ice with fun games and activities.  Ice experiments and crafts to fill in the day.

Thursday: Paper & Yarn Projects: Scrapbook, stamping, origami, finger knitting, weave, cross stitch- something for everyone!

Friday: Art Attack!  Tape design paintings, rock pets, clay creations and more!

    We have recently had some instance of garbage bag tags being ripped in half, and both halves being placed on two separate garbage bags. Garbage will only be collected if a complete bag tag is present on all waste bags, and by-law enforcement will be contacted if necessary.
