Non-resident Fee Subsidy

Meaford residents are eligible for a fee subsidy for non-resident user fee when registering your children for minor sports in the City of Owen Sound.

When you regsiter for minor sports, residents of Meaford will only pay 10% of the non-resident user fee out of pocket – that’s $10/child/sport for field/floor sports and $16.70/child/ice sport.

The City of Owen Sound will track the registrations then send an invoice to the Municipality of Meaford for the remaining 90% that is subsidized at the end of the registration period.

For families with two or three children registering for one or more sports, this means lower up-front costs and avoiding the financial stress compared to waiting for a refund.

    RE-Use Fair

    RE-Use Fair Wishlist Application Form

RE-Use Fairs are a practical and fun way to support the goal of zero waste in our community. The Municipality of Meaford puts serious effort into ensuring the success of Earth Week (EW) and its major community event the RE-Use Fair; Saturday, April 18th from 9 am to 1 pm at the Meaford and St Vincent (MSV) Community Centre.

Are you downsizing or spring cleaning? Do you think that it might be fun and practical to participate in the RE-Use Fair?

Here’s how Meaford’s Reuse Fair will work:

    • Community groups are invited to submit a wish list of specific items that their group needs to the EW organizing team, for example, Meaford Community Gardens may wish for a garden gate.
    • Wish list order forms are available at www.meaford.ca. On the home page, click on Special Events. Scroll down to the Wishlist form and print. If you experience any problems accessing the form, visit Amber Knott at the MSV Community Centre or call Lindy (519-538-0167) or Jane (519-538-2995).
    • The master wish list will be publicized well in advance of fair day, starting March 25th, 2015 at www.meaford.ca under Special Events on the homepage or in traditional and social media outlets.
    • On the day of the Reuse Fair, from 9 am until 1 pm. donors bring wished for items to the MSV Community Centre.
    • At the end of the day, the ‘too good to be through’ items are pick-up by community group representatives.
