Community Improvement Plan & Incentive Programs

The Municipality approved a Downtown Community Improvement Plan for the downtown area of the former Town of Meaford in 2008. This Plan was updated in 2015 to expand the Project Area and incentive programs offered. In 2017 Council approved a NEW Economic Community Improvement Plan applying to commercial, industrial, agricultural/value-added and non-residential heritage lands/buildings outside of the Downtown CIP Area. This plan also includes a new Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Grant for which Downtown (non-residential) landowners are also eligible. Click on the applicable link for a copy of the Economic CIP Background Study and approved Plan.

2017 Grant & Loan Programs

The Municipality of Meaford will be accepting applications for the Community Improvement Grant & Loan Incentive Programs starting April 1st, 2017.

 The Deadline to apply for 2017 is May 19th. 

Potential applicants within the Downtown Community Improvement Area are encouraged to review the details, terms and conditions found below for each program.  Pre-submission consultation with staff is suggested.

The Facade Grant program  (of the Downtown CIP) has been available since 2013. Some examples of approved projects include:
