Harbour Dredging

Project Description

The Municipality of Meaford is completing maintenance dredging work at Meaford Harbour beginning August 17, 2026, with project impacts expected to continue until mid-October. Dredging removes built-up sand, silt, and natural material from the harbour bottom so boats can move through the area more safely.

The Municipality has received the required approvals and permits for this work, including coordination with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, Saugeen First Nation, and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. In-water dredging can only take place during an approved environmental timing window to help protect fish, wildlife, and the surrounding water.

Visitors should review the site plan before visiting and follow posted signs while work is underway.
