Notice of Service Disruptions

In the event of a planned service disruption to facilities, services or systems, the Municipality of Meaford will provide notice of the disruption in advance.

The notice will include information about the reason for the disruption, its anticipated duration and a description of alternative facilities, services or systems that may be available. Notice may be given by posting the information in visible places, including the Municipality's webpage, or by such other method or means as is reasonable under the circumstances.

- a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that every individual with autism spectrum disorders is provided means to achieve quality of life as a respected member of society. 

Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce
- Provides a comprehensive range of community-based mental health services and support that help people move forward. 

Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB)
- Services offered relative to vision rehabilitation, low vision clinic, technical aids, independent living skills, orientation and mobility instruction.

Canadian Hearing Society (CHS)
- Provides services that enhance the independence of deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people; prevention of hearing loss: hearing counseling, employment services, Ontario interpreting services, etc.

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC)
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) offers financial assistance programs for people with disabilities and seniors to fund repairs, renovations, accessibility modifications and home adaptations.   

Community Living Meaford Community Living
- a non-profit agency that provides support to adults with a developmental disability and their families.

Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC)
The Ontario Government has implemented a number of initiatives that offer property tax relief to qualifying individuals.  Property owners who have modified or added to their buildings, specifically to accommodate seniors or persons with disabilities (who would otherwise have to enter an institution) may gain an exemption from taxation for these changes.  The application is made to the MPAC.  For more information, contact MPAC toll-free at 1-866-296-MPAC (1-866-296-6722). 

Ontario March of Dimes
- Provides a wide variety of assistance and potential funding for persons with disabilities. 

Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services
-Special Needs Assistance  Providing programs and services to help children with special needs and their families.

Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services
- Disability Support Program (ODSP) The Ontario Disability Support Program helps people with disabilities that are in financial need to pay for living expenses like food and housing.

The Municipality of Meaford welcomes public input and comments on the provision of goods or services to persons with disabilities. Feedback helps identify areas where changes need to be considered and ways in which we can improve the delivery of accessible goods and services.     Family Day of PLAY

    Annually on Family Day weekend in February, the Municipality of Meaford partners with a variety of partners: Meaford Museum, Meaford Public Library and various community groups and organizations to bring free family fun to the community.

    During the week surrounding Earth Day, the Municipality of Meaford and volunteers on the Earth Week Planning Team, work on providing a variety of events and activities that help promote how important taking care of our planet is, and ways we can all work toward the Zero Waste goal.

    RE-Use Fair

    RE-Use Fair Wishlist Application Form

    RE-Use Fairs are a practical and fun way to support the goal of zero waste in our community. The Municipality of Meaford puts serious effort into ensuring the success of Earth Week (EW) and its major community event the RE-Use Fair; Saturday, April 18th from 9 am to 1 pm at the Meaford and St Vincent (MSV) Community Centre.

    Are you downsizing or spring cleaning? Do you think that it might be fun and practical to participate in the RE-Use Fair?

    Here’s how Meaford’s Reuse Fair will work:

    • Community groups are invited to submit a wish list of specific items that their group needs to the EW organizing team, for example, Meaford Community Gardens may wish for a garden gate.
    • Wish list order forms are available at On the home page, click on Special Events. Scroll down to the Wishlist form and print. If you experience any problems accessing the form, visit Amber Knott at the MSV Community Centre or call Lindy (519-538-0167) or Jane (519-538-2995).
    • The master wish list will be publicized well in advance of fair day, starting March 25th, 2015 at under Special Events on the homepage or in traditional and social media outlets.
    • On the day of the Reuse Fair, from 9 am until 1 pm. donors bring wished for items to the MSV Community Centre.
    • At the end of the day, the ‘too good to be through’ items are pick-up by community group representatives.
